Product Overview

Alright, from what I can see this product is a well constructed 100 pounds power cage mainly designed for squat lifters. With this cage you can also perform pull ups as it comes with a bar on the top of the power cage.

The steel construction is a comprised of 12 and 14 steel gauge thickness, and the maximum weight recommendations are 300 pounds on the bar catches, and also 300 pounds on the upper workout bar. From what I can see it is already a pretty good product for the price.

Now, there are problems this product has. The main one would be that it can not be shipped out of the US, and I have heard many complaints saying that the package comes really messy. This is the MAIN reason why people are giving it less than a 5. Anyways, these are just shipping and packaging problems, what we really care about in the product is simple, the product it self!

Some people even say this cage can get a little unstable overtime. But for this to happen you have to use it for a quite long time (I’m talking years here). But this is what people should expect for a price that low too. You can’t get a extremely high quality power cage when only paying $200 for it, these things usually costs over $400.

Should you Purchase the Cap Barbell Deluxe Power Cage?

Well, this really depends on what you want. The product is very good for the price, but if you can afford a higher quality power cage then I will go for that one instead. Here is the link to my most recommended power rack, if you are interested in that.

If you can’t afford a high quality power rack, then this one will be one of the best options out there.

very good and fair article on these products, they do seem to be high quality even though not the best available on the market today.

I am very serious about exercise equipment I purchase, I want the best product(s) I can afford, I am sure most people feel this way with exercise equipment purchases

    Good honest article

Great review. I am considering doing my own weight traiining at home given the astronomical prices of gyms where I live (in Toronto, Canada). This seems like a relatively compact squat rack that would fit in my apartment. Do you find it can withhold quite a bit of weight? I don’t lift super heavy, but I would like to find a rack that is compact but also can withhold a decent amount of wight. Seems like a pretty decent price. Do you do all your own weight training from home?

I’m currently going to the gym a lot lately, used to have a squat rack not so long ago. Considering purchasing a new one before summer ends.

But yeah, this can hold up to 300 lbs, that’s very decent if you are an intermediate lifter.

I really liked your review! It was detailed, well-written, professional and it really gave the pros and cons of the product so that people can have their own idea about the product and buy it so that that they can make their choice knowingly. Good job and keep going!

Hello Antonio, I appreciate you taking the time to review this power cage. I have a son in high school and I think this would be perfect for his style of workout. I like the fact that you have listed some of the pros and cons of the Cap Barbell Deluxe Power Cage. Does this come with a book or pamphlet that illustrates different exercises and proper techniques?

As far as I know, no. There is plenty of information in the internet that can help you learn the movements and exersices though.
